AOC

AOC is a unique global enterprise with historical roots branching in two distinct directions. The core of what comprises AOC today was formed in 1994 through a joint venture of the resin businesses of two companies - The Alpha Corporation of Collierville, Tennessee, and Owens Corning of Toledo, Ohio. Alpha was a leading producer and innovator of open mold resins while Owens Corning's domination was in closed mold resins.

The divergent strengths of the two founding companies were exceptionally complementary to each other. What emerged was neither Alpha, nor Owens Corning, but a creative amalgamation of the best of two different corporate cultures and areas of expertise.

In 1998 the Alpha Corporation and an internal management group purchased Owens Corning's interest in the joint venture. The change streamlined the decision-making process under a single organization focused solely on meeting the needs of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resin users.

AOC's complete package includes the exceptional color technologies of Chroma-Tek® dispersions and Vibrin® gel coats. With hundreds of off-the-shelf AOC resins available to carry the colorants, Chroma-Tek dispersions are designed for superior compatibility with the primary resin.
