ADS Announces $10M Regional Improvement Program
Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS) recently announced a $10M dollar capital investment for its Midwest facilities. This expansion initiative is in addition to the new manufacturing facility in Hampton, Iowa which ADS will open this September.
"We will continue to invest significant dollars in our facilities to meet the growing demand for our products," stated Joe Chlapaty, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ADS, the world's largest producer of corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. "ADS operates 14 manufacturing facilities in this region of the country, making ADS the largest pipe producer by far. This capital expansion will significantly increase production capacity and add operating efficiencies to our operations in North Dakota, Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa. Increasing our Midwest capacity will enhance our ability to provide customers with the water management products they rely on from ADS to increase crop yields, which is critically important to help alleviate the worldwide shortage of grains, and to meet the rapidly increasing demand for pipe and structures used in infrastructure projects. Our goal is to increase manufacturing, enhance local inventory and expedite deliveries."
"Geographically, the Hampton plant location is well situated to service northeastern Iowa and southern Minnesota. ADS selected this area for its strategic location, excellent interstate access, and for its very qualified and dedicated labor pool," he concluded.
Chlapaty added that customers in Ontario and Manitoba will also benefit. "Last year we opened a plant in Heidelberg, Ontario, and this year the Buxton, North Dakota plant was added in order to do one thing - satisfy customer demand and supply the growing need for ADS products in these areas. Our plant improvement program will also add supply to these nearby areas. I fully expect to continue expanding our production capabilities with new equipment and new plants in all geographic areas, and increase our product offerings across all our markets." stated Chlapaty.
ADS serves the storm and waste water industry through a global network of 53 domestic and international manufacturing plants and 24 distribution centers. In addition to its flagship N-12 pipe, and N-12 HP Sanitary and Storm pipe, the company offers a complete line of fittings and other accessories including StormTech stormwater chambers, ARCTM onsite septic chambers, Nyloplast drainage structures, INSERTA TEE, storm water treatment units and various geotextiles.
