OPUS® technology achieves a high water recovery rate, producing effluent suitable for reuse. OPUS® Technology is a patented Optimized Pretreatment and Unique Separation process developed for the treatment of complex wastewater streams such as cooling tower blowdown. OPUS Technology utilizes reverse osmosis (RO) operated at an elevated pH. The pretreatment processes ahead of the RO are designed to reduce the hardness, metals and suspended solids in the feed water. The elevated pH of the RO feed water effectively controls biological, organic and particulate fouling, eliminates scaling due to silica, and increases the rejection of silica and boron.
