From a total of 130 nominees vying for the distinction of being recognized for outstanding export performance, 12 were honoured during the ceremony, which was held in association with the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters trade conference in Toronto.
"These winners' achievements in the global marketplace have helped shape our role as one of the world's top trading nations and have contributed to Canada's image abroad as a dynamic and innovative business partner," said Minister Pettigrew. "These companies form a part of the foundation upon which Canada stands when taking its place among the best economies in the world."

The Canada Export Awards recognize excellence in the achievements and success of Canadian companies that export their products and services to markets around the world. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the awards, presented annually by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
