ZENON Appoints Head For Europe, Middle East And Africa

New position to oversee the company's second global hub-EMEA

Oakville, Ontario — ZENON Environmental announces the appointment of James (Jim) W. Hotchkies as Senior Vice President Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective immediately. Mr. Hotchkies will grow ZENON's business across all market sectors in each region to ensure the company is the major water and wastewater systems supplier.

Mr. Hotchkies is an eight-year veteran of ZENON, whose career has included the creation and development of ZENON's Standard Systems Division (SSD) from what was ZENON's Land Development Systems. During his time running the SSD, the company saw revenues from the commercial development sector grow over 500%. Mr. Hotchkies has led many initiatives that have contributed to ZENON becoming the leading supplier of membrane bioreactor technology to the Southeast USA and the premier water and wastewater systems provider in the Caribbean.

"We are strongly committed to expanding our European markets," said Andrew Benedek, Chairman and CEO of ZENON, "and for this reason have selected one of the company's most promising vice presidents to head up the new structure created during my stay in Europe." Mr. Benedek spent the last 18 months improving ZENON's organization throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa; a model that Mr. Hotchkies will continue to develop.

"Now that the blueprint for our European hub is in place, I know that EMEA is in capable hands," commented Mr. Benedek, who is also confident of ZENON's growth potential in the region.

According to Mr. Hotchkies, this will mean growing the company's industrial presence in some markets, improving municipal presence in others and expanding ZENON's commercial development systems in all markets.

Mr. Hotchkies hopes to see a marked improvement in the sale of Z-MOD water and wastewater treatment systems, which offer ZENON's world-class membrane technology in a group of affordable, pre-engineered and pre-assembled products.

Having completed the new hub structure in North America and Europe, Mr. Benedek will turn his energy to Asia where his focus will be the development of a similar blueprint for growth. "Once our hub in Asia is complete, ZENON's strong global presence will provide further opportunities for substantial growth," concluded Mr. Benedek.
