Xylem Unveils Versatile Dewatering Solution For Cleaner, Lower-Cost Wastewater Control
New Godwin CD200S and NC200S pumps deliver superior performance, reduce operating costs, and keep wastewater systems running reliably
Washington, DC – Xylem (NYSE: XYL), a leading global water solutions company, introduces its latest dewatering solution, enabling contractors, specifying engineers and water utilities to efficiently manage a wide range of wastewater applications. The new Godwin CD200S and NC200S feature an interchangeable impeller design, delivering two 8-inch pumps in a single package: the Godwin CD200S for general solids-laden wastewater, and the Godwin NC200S designed to handle the stringy, raggy composition of modern municipal wastewater. This innovation offers significant reductions in the total cost of ownership.
“Temporary wastewater pumping systems are essential for safeguarding communities and ensuring the success of critical projects,” said Ken Albaugh, Director of Dewatering Sales at Xylem. “The Godwin CD200S and NC200S give professionals the flexibility to efficiently manage both planned and emergency wastewater projects, providing measurable savings in time, cost, and energy.”
The new pumps address key industry challenges, offering:
- Up to 16% higher efficiency compared to previous models.
- An interchangeable Flygt N® impeller with self-cleaning, non-clog technology.
- A smaller package design and engine that eliminates the need for diesel exhaust fluid, reducing maintenance costs.
- A 25% reduction in carbon emissions and fuel consumption.
The Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN), servicing Pittsburgh and surrounding communities, used the Godwin CD200S for a temporary sewer bypass during emergency pump station repairs. The improved impeller and volute design provided the low Net Positive Suction Head required for seamless operation, while the compact footprint allowed other critical infrastructure to remain in service.
Xylem’s Field Smart Technology, a standard feature on both the Godwin CD200S and NC200S, is a remote monitoring and control system for dewatering applications that provides peace of mind. It provides real-time operational data such as suction and discharge levels, engine performance, and fuel levels from anywhere.
“We were very happy with how everything worked out working with Xylem…[The solution] did a great job on keeping up with the flow. I was also impressed with how quiet the pump was,” said Zachary Hughes, Project Engineer at ALCOSAN.
From emergency mobile solutions to scheduled maintenance, to remote monitoring, commissioning, and on-site operations, Xylem’s AQUA pro service professionals are trained across a vast scope of equipment and technologies to meet all your water-related needs.
Xylem is showcasing the Godwin NC200S at WEFTEC 2025 in Chicago, IL, from September 29 – October 2. Visitors to booth #1221 can experience the new solution and Field Smart Technology, including an expert presentation at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 29, immediately followed by a happy hour celebration until the show floor closes at 5:30 p.m.
