Rivo™ I system enables real-time monitoring to optimize water treatment

Even with long-standing safe drinking water standards, about 7.2 million Americans get sick every year from diseases spread through water, according to the Centers for Disease Control. The United States Environmental Protection Agency requires public water systems to treat and remove contaminants, then test to ensure safe water quality.

The new RivoTM I system from Xylem (NYSE: XYL) helps municipalities measure, monitor and control water quality. The new analyzer and control platform simplifies the water treatment process. Plant operators can precisely dose disinfection chemicals to enhance compliance and safety with real-time monitoring.

“We have created a common control platform making it easier for operators to manage treatment for municipal drinking water,” said Global Product Manager Benjamin Schoepfer. “This new digital technology allows for the interaction among multiple sites and has a single interface for future cloud-based solutions.”

Drive Efficiency

Rivo I, the first in a system series, enables water treatment plant operators to cut costs and save time through advanced monitoring and control features. Its minimal maintenance, proactive alerts and remote monitoring capabilities help reduce staff time and optimize operational efficiency.

Grow for Future Requirements

The innovative system is adaptable with a modular plug-and-play design. The wide array of input and output ports seamlessly integrate with existing assets. This flexibility allows for scalability and easy adjustments to meet future monitoring requirements.

“As customers’ needs change and grow, this new system easily adapts to evolve with treatment requirements and provides efficient dosing controls,” said Schoepfer. “Simply put, the Rivo I system brings greater intelligence to water treatment.”
