WWEMA Member Market Survey Reflects Slight Decline Over Previous 12 Months

The Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association (WWEMA) has released the results of its 2017 WWEMA Member Market Indicators Survey. The survey tracks the experiences of manufacturers and their representatives within the water and wastewater market in eight areas:

  • Design work
  • Quotations
  • Bookings/Orders
  • Sales Domestic
  • Sales International
  • Company Employment
  • Materials Costs
  • Industry Market Growth

Results show a slight decline in the market versus the previous 12 months with 55 percent of respondents indicating they saw domestic sales improve over the 12 months from September 2016 to August 2017, and 53 percent reporting increases in bookings and orders during that time. Members expressed cautious optimism regarding near-term sales, with 69 percent predicting a modest growth of 2.5-5.0 percent, and 17 percent predicting growth greater than 5 percent. Seven percent predicted a decline in domestic sales for the next 12 months with 7.0 percent predicting sales the same as last year. The full report is available exclusively to WWEMA members.
