Wolong Electric America To Showcase High-Efficiency Motor Solutions For Water And Wastewater Applications At WEFTEC 2026
Engineered to support energy savings, reliability, and performance in demanding pumping applications
Wolong Electric America, a global leader in industrial motor and drive technology, will exhibit at WEFTEC 2026, taking place September 28–30, 2026 in New Orleans, Louisiana. At booth #7747, Wolong Electric America will highlight a focused portfolio of motor technologies engineered to improve efficiency, uptime, and application flexibility in water and wastewater systems, including the EMR Bulldozer and EMR Bulldozer C Face, Electronically Commutated (EC) Motors, Energy Saver Severe Duty and Close-Coupled Motors, Vertical Hollow and Solid Shaft Motors, and Medium Voltage Drives.
Leading Wolong Electric America's product showcase is the EMR Bulldozer family, including the EMR Bulldozer, which is designed to deliver ultra-high efficiency, compact power density, and precise control in demanding pump and fluid-handling applications. The ferrite-assisted synchronous reluctance integrated drive motor platform delivers efficiency equivalent to IE5 and is engineered for variable speed loads across a wide operating range, enabling accurate low-speed control, reduced noise, and reliable performance in harsh environments common to municipal and industrial water facilities.
Available in standard NEMA frames with horsepower ratings from 3 to 100 HP, and 1200 or 1800 RPM speeds, the EMR Bulldozer platform is built for straightforward adoption in both new installations and retrofit projects. Its integrated drive design, near-unity power factor, cooler operating temperatures, and reduced rotor losses help operators lower energy consumption, extend motor life, and simplify upgrades without mechanical modifications to existing systems.
Wolong Electric America will also feature its EC Motor platform as an efficient solution for applications requiring precise speed control, compact design, and advanced electronic protection. Manufactured in Monterrey, Mexico and offered in outputs from 0.09 to 7.5 kW, the EC Motor series is built on high-efficiency IPM motor technology that meets or exceeds IE4 requirements and supports smooth torque delivery across the full speed range.
Designed for accurate flow and pressure management, the EC Motor platform offers speed control accuracy down to 1 rpm and supports multiple control options including serial port, PWM, 0–10 VDC, and 24 VAC multispeed inputs. With protection against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, locked rotor, and overtemperature conditions, the motors help OEMs and system designers improve reliability while reducing energy use and operating costs in critical pumping applications.
Also on display will be Wolong’s Energy Saver Severe Duty and Close-Coupled Motors, which are well suited for challenging pumping, fluid handling, and food processing environments. These severe-duty NEMA Design B, three-phase motors are available in JM and JP mounting designs, NEMA frames 143 to 365, horsepower ratings from 1 to 75 HP, and 208-230/460 V configurations, and they deliver NEMA Premium efficiency with TEFC, IP55 construction for dependable operation in harsh conditions.
Built with aluminum or heavy-duty cast iron frames, endshields, and conduit boxes, along with heavy-gauge steel fan covers and non-sparking fans, the Energy Saver Severe Duty and Close-Coupled Motors are engineered for long service life and low running costs. Additional features including VFD capability under NEMA MG1 Part 31, low noise operation, smooth acceleration, and a three-year warranty make them a strong fit for water and wastewater pump packages where durability and efficiency are both essential.
Wolong Electric America will further highlight its vertical hollow and solid shaft motors offering for vertical pump applications where rugged construction, thrust capability, and inverter-duty performance are critical. The Ultra Series vertical pump motors combine NEMA Premium efficiency, full inverter-duty capability exceeding NEMA MG1-31 requirements, cast iron construction, Class H insulation, and high-thrust performance intended for deep-well and other vertical pumping applications across wastewater treatment and related industries.
The vertical hollow and solid shaft platform is available across a broad technical scope, including 3 to 3000 HP, 600 to 3600 RPM, 460, 575, and 2300/4160 V, with WPI and TEFC enclosures and P-base mountings. Features such as effective rodent protection, improved axial ball ratchet systems, insulated bearing and AEGIS SGR protection, and extended bearing life help operators improve long-term reliability in demanding service conditions.
Wolong Electric America’s Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives deliver reliable, efficient control. Built on a cascaded H-Bridge, IGBT-based multi-level inverter topology, the drives provide low-distortion output without external filters, compatibility with both new and legacy motors, and reduced grid harmonics through an all-copper pulse phase shift transformer. Power-cell redundancy, neutral rebalancing, modular swap-out components, redundant cooling fans, and a compact drawer-style design help keep critical equipment running while simplifying maintenance and minimizing downtime.
By showcasing these motor platforms at WEFTEC 2026, Wolong Electric America is underscoring its commitment to helping water and wastewater operators and engineers optimize pumping system performance with proven, energy-efficient technologies tailored to real-world operating demands. Visitors to the Wolong exhibit will be able to learn more about how these solutions support reduced energy consumption, improved uptime, and dependable operation across a wide range of water and wastewater applications.
