UV disinfection systems are widely accepted and used in drinking water and waste water applications.

Key components of these systems are the UV lamp and the driver of the lamp. The performance of these two components is critical to the overall system performance.

As lamp technologies two approaches are in use. Medium pressure lamps are used for applications with limited available space, while low pressure high output lamps are used for energy efficient applications. In this study the focus was put on low pressure high output lamps.
