WaterTectonics, an international leader in onsite water treatment and services, has announced that Jim Mothersbaugh, Founder and President is an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011 Pacific Northwest Award finalist. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Mothersbaugh was selected as a finalist from nearly 90 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 10, 2011 at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers.
WaterTectonics was founded in 1999, nearly a decade after Mothersbaugh developed an early prototype of the company's electrically-driven water treatment systems in the garage of his suburban Washington home. Today, the company engineers and manufactures custom water treatment solutions for storm, ground, industrial, energy, marine and contaminated water applications. Innovators of advanced technology that is easy to implement, WaterTectonics' sustainable approach to water treatment is effective among diverse high-volume waste streams. The company and its technology have earned recognition from numerous environmental agencies, Fortune 500 companies.
"I am humbled to be named a finalist for this prestigious award. There are so many great individuals and companies innovating and implementing new technologies here in the Pacific Northwest. It is a great honor to be associated with this group of finalists as we each are tremendous leaders in our own fields," Mothersbaugh said. "I am also delighted for the recognition that the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 Award in the Pacific Northwest brings to WaterTectonics. This milestone brings an additional sense of pride and dedication to the company."
