Water Resources

Water resource evaluation is an important step in evaluating the potential for development of a water supply and assessing possible impacts to surrounding water resources and is necessary for development of long-term water management plans.
Water Resource Evaluation One of the common problems faced by our clients in the arid western states and urban settings is the need to develop adequate water supplies without significant impacts to other water resources. Water resource evaluation is an important step in evaluating the potential for development of a water supply and assessing possible impacts to surrounding water resources and is necessary for development of long-term water management plans.

Water resource evaluations range in scope from reconnaissance surveys of the geology, geophysics, and surface and groundwater resources of an area, to development of complex, three-dimensional numerical models to analyze the interaction of groundwater withdrawal and recharge in an aquifer system. GeoTrans has competently completed several hundred water resource evaluations to meet our clients needs.

Water Supply Development Our customers benefit from a water supply development program designed to achieve the best possible combination of well performance, useful life, and reasonable cost. GeoTrans professionals have developed more than 400 water supplies for municipalities, industries, and mining operations in geologic environments ranging from shallow alluvial basins to fractured rock aquifers extending to depths of 2,500 feet.

Our experienced project teams evaluate the local water resources, identify the optimal water supply well locations, design and implement drilling and development programs, and design the pumping and conveyance systems.
