Water Planet Sells MembranePRO Business

Water Planet, which developed and now markets the world’s first smart membrane products, announced recently that it has sold its MembranePRO Services business to a group of private investors. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Arian Edalat, Ph.D., who ran the MembranePRO business as the VP of Engineering at Water Planet since 2011, has been named President and General Manager of the new company, which continues to be operated under the MembranePRO Services name. Prior to joining Water Planet, Edalat ran water treatment service companies for nearly a decade.

“MembranePRO represented Water Planet’s legacy business of selling, operating and servicing water treatment systems. That business gave rise to our IntelliFlux automated control software, and it served as a great proving ground for our PolyCera membranes. Moreover, it became a strong and successful operation, completing more than $7M worth of water treatment projects with $13M booked for the next three years. This track record made it viable to spin out as a standalone business under new ownership, and I’m confident that Arian will be able to lead and grow the business to great success,” said Eric Hoek, Water Planet’s Chief Executive Officer.

“I’m honored and excited to have the opportunity to lead the new MembranePRO Services business going forward. With our amazing team and new owners I am confident we will take this business to the next level,” said Edalat.

“This move allows us to focus on the dynamic growth of our flagship products and continue the development of other disruptive technologies,” said Eric Hoek, Water Planet’s Chief Executive Officer.
