Water Disinfection At Feldschlöesschen Brewery In Switzerland

Feldschlöesschen Brewery, established in 1876, stands as Switzerland's premier brewery, producing an impressive 340 million liters of various beverages annually. Located in Rheinfelden, the brewery encountered significant challenges with microbial contamination in its water supply, particularly downstream from the municipal water storage. Despite meeting European drinking water standards, contamination levels reached as high as 800 CFU/ml, prompting the brewery to seek a reliable disinfection solution to protect the integrity of its production processes. To address this issue, Feldschlöesschen installed the RZ series HOD™ (Hydro-Optic Disinfection) UV system at the outlet of their water tank. This advanced system, capable of processing 65 m³/hr with a UV transmittance of 98.5%, ensures consistent and effective disinfection. Its integrated software allows for real-time monitoring and automatic adjustments to UV lamp power, maintaining the necessary disinfection dose.
