1998 Wastewater System Improvements, Mountaire Farms, Inc., Lumber Bridge, NC
Mountaire Farms Inc. completed wastewater system improvements during 1998 for its poultry processing complex in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina. The existing 0.6 MGD treatment system consisted of two anaerobic lagoons, a facultative lagoon and five spray irrigation fields. Improvements expanded capacity to 1.75 MGD and eliminated direct discharges.

1999 Storm Water System Improvements, Food Processor, Sussex County, DE
A Sussex County food processor completed $1.7 million in storm water system improvements during 1999. The improvements represent the culmination of a multi-million dollar environmental initiative, inaugurated in 1993. The latest construction resulted in the elimination of surface water discharges, reduced organic pollutant loading to an extremely low-flow stream and improved aquatic habitat.

Dover Downs Pumping Station and Force Main (NO. 7 - Replacement), City of Dover, DE
The pumping station, located east of U.S. Route 13 on the properties of Dover Downs Raceway and the North Dover Center shopping plaza in Dover, Delaware, pumps into a major County force main and serves the Dover Downs raceway and nearby surrounding areas. The design had to accommodate severe swings in loading and high potential pressures exerted on the force main.

Kent County Wastewater Master Plan, Kent County Levy Court, Kent County, DE
The Kent County Levy, Court, Kent County, Delaware is developing a long-range wastewater master plan for its regional wastewater system. The master plan will be used to help maintain growth capabilities in order to provide services to a growing, prosperous County.

Kenton Sanitary Sewer District, Kent County Levy Court, Kent County, DE
The Kent County Levy Court is proceeding with the implementation steps to plan, design and install a sewerage system to serve the Kenton Sanitary Sewer District (KSSD), Kent County, Delaware. The project is to be carried out with various funding assistance programs including the EPA Construction Grants Program, the State Revolving Fund, 21st Century Funds and others.

Oak Orchard Sanitary Sewer District, Sussex County Council, Sussex County, DE
The Sussex County Council is proceeding with the implementation steps to plan, design and install a sewerage system to serve the Oak Orchard Sanitary Sewer District (OOSSD), Sussex County, Delaware.

Spray Irrigation Assessment, Continental Grain, Pork Division
Continental Grain Company, Pork Division engaged CABE to conduct an operation and maintenance assessment and prepare manuals to optimize the performance of swine wastewater land application systems. The systems served 27 farms in Northwestern Missouri.

Wastewater Treatment Improvements, Perdue Farms Incorporated, Georgetown, DE
CABE provided planning, design, permitting and construction phase services for a major expansion and BNR upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant at Perdue Farms' Georgetown facility. Treating Perdue's agribusiness waste requires a system that can handle up to 20 times the organic loading rate that a similar sized municipal plant would experience.
