Wanner Engineering To Introduce New Line Of Hydra-Cell Metering Pumps At WEFTEC 2006

Minneapolis, MN — A new line of six metering pumps featuring precision electronic flow control will be introduced by Wanner Engineering, Inc. at the Water Environmental Federation (WEFTEC) exhibition October 22 – 25, 2006 in Dallas, Texas.
Designed for a wide range of metering and dosing applications in the processing industries, the new line of Hydra-Cell® "Metering Solutions" is comprised of six metering pumps ranging in capacity from 0 to 894.6 GPH at pressure ratings of 50 to 2500 PSI. Employing Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) electronic flow adjustment to maintain greater accuracy throughout the turndown range, Hydra-Cell P Series metering pumps meet or exceed API 675 performance standards by providing steady-state accuracy of ±1% or better, linearity of ±3% or better, and repeatability of ±3% or better, according to Wanner Engineering.
Five of the six new Hydra-Cell Metering Solutions models feature a multiple diaphragm design that virtually eliminates pulsations to provide accurate metering with linear flow. This also reduces pipe strain, enhances operating safety, minimizes maintenance, and allows for the use of smaller accessories, the company states. In addition, an extensive choice of diaphragm, check valve, and liquid end materials are offered, enabling the pumps to operate in a wide range of applications. A separate gearbox allows for greater versatility in changing applications and prevents cross-contamination of actuating hydraulic oil.
Unlike many ordinary metering pumps, Hydra-Cell offers dual-pump capability without the cost of an additional pump, Wanner Engineering states. Using only one motor and gearbox, Hydra-Cell Metering Solutions can provide spare, double-flow, side-by-side systems, or pre-mixed ratios. In addition, a single Hydra-Cell pump can often achieve the same capacity as an ordinary triplex metering pump arrangement, taking up less floor space and lowering both acquisition and maintenance costs. The company also says that Hydra-Cell Metering Solutions are available with a wide range of options and system accessories to provide optimum metering pump performance for specific applications.
