Vylon Slipliner Pipe

Vylon Slipliner pipe is equipped with many outstanding features that assure long-term system performance
Features & Benefits

Vylon Slipliner pipe is equipped with many outstanding features that assure long-term system performance and low maintenance costs.

1. Material

Vylon Slipliner pipe is made of PVC, the same material used in 90% of all new small diameter sewer installations. The PVC in Vylon Slipliner pipe conforms to cell class 12364A as defined by ASTM D-1784. This high modulus material gives Vylon Slipliner pipe the toughness necessary for installation in trenchless technology applications. PVC's proven record of performance in direct bury applications also applies to sliplining.

2. Structural Strength

Vylon Slipliner pipe combines the high modulus compound with an I-beam profile for a structurally sound pipe that does not depend on the existing pipe for fundamental strength.

3. Joint Tightness

The most advantageous characteristic of this innovative slipliner pipe is its unique gasketed joint system. This system provides a tight seal that meets the requirements of ASTM D-3212. The ASTM test requires the pipe to be deflected under a point load to 5% and not leak under 10.8 psi of internal pressure or 22" of mercury vacuum. The fully gasketed joint allows for joint articulation of 3 degrees with no leaks. The flush coupling does not reduce the interior diameter or increase the outside diameter of the Vylon slipliner pipe.

4. Superior Hydraulics

Vylon Slipliner pipe has a Manning "n" coefficient of 0.009.

This low value will often allow a sliplined pipe to carry as much flow as existing pipe. Table 1 shows a comparison between Vylon Slipliner pipe and concrete pipe (n = 0.013). Additionally, abrasion resistance of PVC pipe exceeds that of concrete pipe.

5. Easy Installation

Vylon Slipliner pipe can be quickly installed into existing pipes while they are in operation; there is no need for by-pass pumping. This minimizes interference with existing utilities, environment, traffic, Or congested living and working areas and provides greater construction productivity.
