The Water Tower recently hosted two major fundraising events — the inaugural AquaRoyale Casino Night on Oct. 22 and the 6th Annual Watering Hole Golf Tournament on Oct. 23 — raising vital support for programs that advance water research, technology, and workforce training.

More than 110 guests attended the first ever AquaRoyale Casino Night, where glamour met philanthropy in support of The Water Tower Institute’s mission to provide innovative solutions for water utilities. The evening featured casino-style games, dinner, and great company.

The following morning, 150 water professionals, community members, and supporters came together for the 6th Annual Watering Hole Golf Tournament at Lake Lanier Legacy Golf Course. Participants enjoyed a day of networking and camaraderie on the green.

Proceeds from both events directly benefit The Water Tower Institute (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit), which funds initiatives such as STEM workshops for high school students exploring water careers and workforce training programs for individuals seeking careers as water or wastewater operators. With nearly $100,000 raised, support from event participants, sponsors, and donors helps ensure these programs continue to grow and reach more future water professionals.

“These events demonstrate the incredible generosity and commitment of our partners and community,” said Melissa Meeker, CEO of The Water Tower. “Their support helps us continue to innovate, train, and inspire the next generation of water professionals.”

The Water Tower extends its gratitude to all event sponsors whose generosity made both events possible, including presenting golf tournament sponsor Reeves Young, royal flush gala sponsors Arcadis, iHydrant, and Reeves Young, and The Water Tower’s Sustaining Partners Garver, Gwinnett County, Kamstrup, Siemens, STV, and Wade Trim. The fall fun continues with The Water Tower’s 2nd Annual H2GO Run Like Water 5K on Nov. 15, offering participants a one-of-a-kind opportunity to run through the renowned F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center (WRC). This exclusive, behind-the-scenes course gives runners a rare look at one of the most advanced water treatment facilities in the world.

“We’re very grateful to our partners at the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources for providing access to the F. Wayne Hill WRC for this unique experience and a chance to connect the community to the people and technology behind clean water,” said Kristan VandenHeuvel, Director of Impact and Engagement at The Water Tower.

Proceeds from the 5K will support The Water Tower Institute’s programming in research, technology advancement, and workforce training. The Run Like Water 5K is an official qualifier for the Atlanta Journal Constitution Peachtree Road Race.
