The SWAN Forum Appoints Fredrick Royan Of Frost & Sullivan As Council Chair

The Smart Water Networks Forum (SWAN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Fredrick Royan as our new Council Chair. He brings over two decades of experience in water resources and sustainability, making him a pivotal figure in steering the SWAN Forum towards a resilient future highlighted by further innovation and collaboration.

Fredrick is currently the Global Practice Area Leader for the Sustainability and Circular Economy Practice at Frost & Sullivan – focusing on scaling sustainability transformation with a 6P framework of policies, products, processes, people/personas, partnerships, and platforms. He is one of the leading thought leaders in the sustainability field and has pioneered strategic industry reports on the smart water sector. He also serves as Chair of the SWAN India Alliance, a testament to his desire to continue scaling smart water across emerging markets.

Commenting on this appointment, Fredrick said, “The rapidly growing global community of the SWAN Forum brings together leading water utilities and regulators as well as the ecosystem of innovative start-ups and leading design engineering and solution companies and is already delivering pioneering research, interactive events and workshops on smart water through the regional alliances and communities of practices.”

He further expressed gratitude, stating, “I would like to thank the SWAN Forum team and the SWAN Council members of the past and present for this opportunity to Chair the forum – and also thank our outgoing Chair Jennifer Rebeiro for her contributions over the many years as an active member of the SWAN Council and her leadership as Chair over the last couple of years.”

Fredrick concluded with his vision, “I am looking forward to working with the Advisory Council and the SWAN Forum team as we look to further strengthen the collaboration between utilities and ecosystems of partners in scaling smart water transformation for water utilities around the world to ensure key sustainable outcomes of resilience, security, and accessibility.”
