The Past, Present & Future Of Doosan Hydro Technology
Doosan Hydro Technology looks back on its successes over the past year and looks forward to future global accomplishments
Tampa, FL Population growth, increased pollution and drastic climate changes accelerate the decline of the global water supply. With this in mind, Doosan Hydro Technology enters 2008 with a mission of superior process solutions and innovative technologies for its customers and shareholders allowing all to provide water for decades to come.
It has been an extraordinary journey for Doosan Hydro Technology. In October 2005, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, the multi-billion dollar, multinational, publicly traded South Korean company and a world leader in the desalination and power industries, acquired the North American water treatment operations of American Engineering Services (AES). AES was formed in 1988 with their primary line of business as a reverse osmosis (RO) system supplier and contractor; designing, manufacturing and installing all types of water and wastewater systems.
This acquisition established the U.S. subsidiary, Doosan Hydro Technology in Tampa, Florida. Since 2005, Doosan Hydro Technology has experienced an annual employee growth rate in excess of 100% and has more than doubled its corporate office, manufacturing and research and development facilities. Doosan Hydro Technology has implemented new domestic and global strategies to better serve its clients and nurture long-term relationships with business partners.
The strength of the relationship between Doosan Hydro Technology and its parent company, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, allows Doosan Hydro Technology to bond high dollar projects, meet contractual agreements, and exceed client expectations, thus providing total water solutions. As a result, Doosan Hydro Technology can provide clients a single source of design, manufacturing of equipment, plant construction, commissioning, and operation for all types of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
In 2007, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction was awarded Al Shuaibah III Expansion RO Project and Shuwaikh RO Project. Doosan Hydro Technology will provide the engineering and design specifications for pretreatment, RO, neutralization, chemical feed and CIP systems for those two projects. The Luggage Point Alliance awarded Doosan Hydro Technology to supply RO skid system to be constructed in Australia, which is the largest project of its kind in the southern hemisphere. In addition, Venice Gardens was awarded by Sarasota County for the construction of the Utilities Water Treatment Expansion Facility. Also awarded was the City of Hollywood's Facility Expansion.
Recently, Doosan Hydro Technology was nominated for GWI's Desalination Company of the Year Award. This is an incredible honor and the company hopes have the support of WDR, GWI and IDA members. According to Doosan Hydro Technology's Chief Operating Officer, Bob Randall, "We are deeply honored to be nominated by our peers for this prestigious award and welcome the industry's continued support. As we continue our double and triple-digit-growth, we look forward to building stronger relationships with all of our clients and business partners in this thriving industry."
