THE NEW EQUA-DRAW™ SYSTEM FROM USFILTER EQUALIZES

VINELAND, N.J., June 12, 2003 - USFilter introduces the new Equa-Draw™ System engineered by Wallace & Tiernan Products of Vineland, New Jersey. The new system eliminates waste and reduces labor associated with traditional manifolding of vacuum regulators commonly used for water treatment gasses, such as chlorine, sulfur dioxide and ammonia. The new Equa-Draw System will be featured in USFilter's booth #1525 at the American Water Works Association, June 15-18 in Anaheim, California.

The unique, patent pending system equalizes the gas that flows from several connected gas containers--all under vacuum for maximum safety. The new design eliminates the need for manually balancing the flow rates from each individual vacuum regulator.

"Our Equa-Draw system connects to each gas container, allowing maximum control and safety for vacuum manifold systems," says Gary Schaeffer, marketing manager for USFilter Wallace & Tiernan Products. "By monitoring the flow and automatically adjusting flow rates, there is no waste and less labor required to manage vacuum systems."

The advantages of vacuum manifolding gas supplies are well documented. All pressurized lines are eliminated and since the gas supplies are isolated from each other under vacuum, it is possible to use smaller gas abatement systems. Until now, standard vacuum systems required extensive labor to ensure equal feed rates. With the new Equa-Draw System, gas flow rates are automatically equalized, eliminating the need for rate valves and labor for constant monitoring and adjustment.

The modular Equa-Draw System can link up to six gas containers, either 150 lb. cylinders or one-ton containers. Coupled with USFilter's patented Series 55-400 all vacuum, non-isolating switchover unit, an uninterrupted supply of gas can be provided for critical drinking water applications.
