The Correlator is the highest level of technology used when pinpointing a
leak on a large distribution system is necessary. The Correlator is a
computerized component that triangulates the exact position of a leak,
based on a narrowed field after the technician has "listened " for the
leak at a number of locations. Leak surveys are available with this piece
of equipment in order to help prioritize repair schedules and help maintain
a minimum level of unaccounted for water. American Leak Detection uses
correlation methodology on municipal main lines, service lines, fire
protection systems, heating and cooling supply and return lines. Emergent
local response in available for main line breaks.
