Pure Salt Baytown, located in Houston, Texas, is a leading producer of evaporated salt in the United States.

Their Baytown, Texas facility produces high-purity salt that is used primarily in chlor-alkali production, as well as other salt products sold into water softening, chemical and food grade markets.

Project Background
Pure Salt Baytown faced a unique challenge.  A new chlor-alkali chemical plant presented them with an opportunity to supply high-purity sodium chloride into their process.  In order to furnish the salt to this prospective customer, a new production facility,  in close proximity of their client and the local source of solution-mined salt, would need to be designed and built.  The critical aspect of this potential project was the production requirement (in excess of 800,000 tons per year) at high system availability and the exacting salt purity necessary for their client.
