SWAN Forum And BlueTech Research Launch Global Utility Survey To Unpack Digital Twin Trends For Water Sector

Leading international organisations The SWAN Forum and BlueTech Research are thrilled to announce the launch of a global utility survey to uncover digital twin trends, opportunities and barriers to help steer market outlook.

The results of this digital twin survey (open to all drinking water, wastewater and stormwater utilities) will help form a concise “Digital Twin Market Research Blueprint” for the water sector that will highlight the advantages, disadvantages, and applications of digital twins, with a focus on global market drivers and adoption barriers.

Digital Twins are rising in popularity thanks to the fast growth of the SWAN Digital Twin Work Group and the passionate work of global members and thought leaders from across utilities, engineering firms, researchers and the extended technology supply chain. Whether applied across process optimisation, water quality monitoring, detecting sewer blockages, or flagging anomalies ahead of time, the potential of digital twin technologies does require more context to be more properly understood and valued.

Commenting on this strategic collaboration, Shayna Ramboz, SWAN Events Director and Digital Twin Work Group coordinator, remarked: “Given all the excitement and buzz surrounding digital twins, it is imperative that we take the time to properly assess the current market landscape in terms of global utility input on this subsect of smart water. With the help of leading analysts from BlueTech Research, we can collectively uncover relevant gaps and opportunities, including those previously untapped.”

Rhys Owen, Senior Research Editor at BlueTech Research and co-lead on this survey added, “We are very excited to collaborate with SWAN and utilities worldwide on this project, which is going to help us understand how digital technologies will shape the water sector in the coming decades.”
