Standard Methods' 19th Edition is Now Available

The 19th edition of the well-known Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater is now available. This publication, as it has been for many years, is the product of a joint effort by the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the Water Environment Federation (WEF), and the American Public Health Association (APHA) to provide the best analytical procedures for examining water and wastewater. The latest methods for testing the quality of drinking water, municipal wastewater, or industrial wastewater, and for carrying out a variety of other environmental protection tests are covered.

Many of the procedures included in the volume are endorsed by regulatory agencies, and all are accepted as standard industry practice. They are believed to be the best methods available for analyzing water and wastewater, and are said to represent a valid and recognized basis for control and evaluation of water, and ultimately regulatory compliance.

Among new procedures included in the latest edition are: an improved method for measuring total organic carbon (TOC); a new radon measurement technique; a revised method for measuring gas super-saturation; and an improved procedure for the detection of pathogenic bacteria.
