Stack Economizer

The direct contact stack economizer uses the remaining energy in the exhaust gases of a conventional heating system to raise the temperature of the incoming water.

This is accomplished by using a direct contact heat exchanger unit much like the Econowater in conjunction with a conventional water heating system such as a fire tube heater, package boiler or a heat exchanger system. A special pumping system is then used to raise the pressure of the heated water up to the required feed water pressure.

The stack economizer can raise the overall thermal efficiency of some heating systems considerably and is worth investigating.

QuikWater can build a stack economizer for a newly designed water heating system or retrofit some existing conventional heating systems.
