The Type EQS "smart" transmitter for temperature measurement in process-control applications such as water treatment accepts RTD, thermocouple, millivolt, and ohms inputs. Configuration options allow the transmitter to provide a 4- to 20-mA process variable signal in the analog mode or a polled digital-process variable signal in the field bus mode. EQS features include microcomputer technology that permits calibration, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting from both local and remote locations. The transmitter does not require calibration after programming the range and sensor type or prior to initial installation. The device is FM and CSA certified as explosion-proof, dust-/ignition-proof, nonincendive, and intrinsically safe.
