Silver Springs, Nevada Receives 2010 Drinking Water Award From Nevada Environmental Protection Administration Hungerford & Terry Supplies Filtration Systems
The 2010 Nevada State Drinking Water Revolving Fund Award for Sustainable Health Protection has been awarded to the Silver Springs Mutual Water Company, located in Silver Springs, NV. Six (6) 11 ft. diameter filters that remove arsenic from the well water supply were supplied by Hungerford & Terry, based in Clayton, NJ.
The Silver Springs Mutual Water Company was nominated for the prestigious award by the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection and emerged as the winner. The arsenic removal filters, which were built by Hungerford & Terry for the Silver Springs drinking water supply, can handle 1800 gpm (expandable to 2400 gpm). The filters reduce the arsenic from 26 ppb to less than 4 ppb.
