Case Study: Medical Plaza Way, Clarksville, Indiana

Source: Contech Construction Products, Inc.

Located off U.S. 31 at Veterans Parkway in Clarksville, IN, the $42.8M Kentuckiana Medical Center LLC site development project will include a 75,000-square-foot physician-owned hospital building as well as a 40,000-square-foot medical office building. The hospital will initially house about 40 beds, and provide services such as emergency care, imaging, cardiac care, internal medicine and plastic surgery.

Parking for the new facility will be provided by the Medical Plaza Way lot. As paved surfaces increase stormwater runoff, developers were required to implement a stormwater management solution that would meet the regulations and guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) and the state of Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). The town of Clarksville – like many Indiana communities – has implemented a stormwater quality program, taking extra care to control the amount of contamination entering local waterways by stormwater runoff.
