Diffused Aeration: Efficiencies at Depth

Source: Otterbine Barebo, Inc.

The Air Flo 2 system releases the air at the pond bottom in a 27 square foot or 2.5 square meter area. As the air bubbles travel to the surface, they create a vacuum or flow pattern which reduces the turbulence or resistance that the subsequent air bubbles encounter. This makes the system more efficient in general and reduces the turbulence at the pond bottom. Coupled with the underlay, this insures that nutrients and sediments are not placed in suspension.
