New coating ideal when aesthetics are important

Sherwin-Williams introduces Hi-Solids Polyurethane Mildew Resistant, a two-component gloss and color retentive heavy duty maintenance coating that is ideal for use on tanks and structures in high-visibility areas.

Providing protection against mildew growth in hot, damp and shady conditions, Hi-Solids Polyurethane-MR is effective on both interior and exterior prepared substrates in industrial environments, said Brad Rossetto, Vice President Marketing, Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings.

"The product is of particular benefit in applications such as elevated water storage tanks where condensation on the underside is very conducive to the formation of mildew," he said.

A two-component, low VOC aliphatic acrylic polyurethane resin coating, Hi-Solids Polyurethane-MR is available in a high gloss finish.

In addition to water storage tanks, Hi-Solids Polyurethane-MR can be effectively applied on chemical processing equipment, oil field machinery, refineries, conveyors, rolling stock, power plants, marine applications, offshore structures, clean rooms, handrails and paper mills.

The coating is suitable for use in USDA-inspected facilities and conforms to AWWA D102-03 and OCS #5 & #6. It is also acceptable for use in high performance architectural applications.
