Seven RFPs Released For WRF Research

The Water Research Foundation (WRF) recently announced that Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are available for six new research projects funded under the Solicited Research Program. In addition, one new RFP was posted under the Emerging Opportunities Program. All RFPs are available online.
WRF subscribers are encouraged to participate in the Solicited Program projects by volunteering to serve as a test facility, provide water samples, respond to surveys, loan equipment, or share staff expertise on particular research projects. Participating utilities gain firsthand information about the study and benefit from working with researchers and others in the water community. Interested organizations must complete the online UPIR volunteer application form.

Below is the list of Solicited Program projects for which WRF is seeking proposals:

Project 4892: Quality of Biogas Derived from Wastewater Solids and Co-Digested Organic Wastes: A Characterization Study

Project 4969: One Water Cities: Development of Guidance Documents and Assessment Metrics
Due Date/Time: 11/27/18, 2 PM MT

Project 4971: Leveraging the Role of Pretreatment Programs in One Water Initiatives: Synthesis of Best Practices and Path Forward
Due Date/Time: 11/27/18, 2 PM MT

Project 4975: Practices to Enhance Internal Fermentation of Side-Stream Secondary Sludge and Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids for Biological Phosphorus Removal
Due Date/Time: 11/27/18, 2 PM MT

Project 4976: New Approaches for Reduced Aeration Energy Plus Nutrient Removal
Due Date/Time: 11/27/18, 2 PM MT

Project 4978: Application of Big Data for Energy Management in Water Utilities
Due Date/Time: 11/27/18, 2 PM MT

Proposals submitted in response to the above RFPs must follow The Water Research Foundation’s document Guidelines for Focus Area Program Proposals. The guidelines contain instructions for the technical aspects, financial statements, and administrative requirements that the applicant must follow.

The following RFP is posted under the Emerging Opportunities Program:

Project 5000: Dual Plumbing Costs for Buildings Utilizing Non-Potable Water Reuse
Due Date/Time: 10/24/18, 3 PM MT

Proposals submitted in response to the above RFP should refer to the Emerging Opportunity Program Worksheetsfor further guidance.
