Securing Water for Food: A Grand Challenge for Development launches on September 13, 2017 the Global Water-Agriculture Photo Contest and invites photographers to submit photos calling attention to water scarcity, water security, and food security.

The Global Water Agriculture Photography Contest, which is open for submissions September 13-27, 2017, is designed to harness the power of images to tell a story and raise awareness about the program’s primary goal of accelerating innovations that will improve the way water is being used for agriculture. We seek photos that showcase:

  • Innovators and enterprises that favorably affect the production of more food with less water and/or make more water available for food production, processing, and distribution
  • Women and men who work in agriculture and are impacting water/food security through new technologies and business models.

Eligible contestants can submit a single photo, multiple single photos, or a group of photos (15 total to qualify for the Grand Prize award category) on the photo contest platform. Contestants may enter a maximum of 20 photographs total across both categories (single photo or group photo submission). There is no fee to enter the Securing Water for Food Global Water-Agriculture Photo Contest.

Winning photos and a short photographer bios will be featured on the Securing Water for Food website “In the News” page, the Securing Water for Food newsletters, other social media channels, and potentially in other funding partner communication channels.
