Screw Press

Phoenix has long been established as a supplier of dewatering equipment for the pulp and paper industry
Phoenix has long been established as a supplier of dewatering equipment for the pulp and paper industry. Now the Phoenix Screw Press is available when higher dryness is needed. It provides higher dewatering capability than alternate systems, resulting in more effective use of process water and reduced costs for disposal of dewatered sludge.

Features And Benefits
Low Variable Speed
One to ten rpm promotes cohesion of material without extrusion.

Large High Pressure Zone
Distinct zone between exit cone and last screw flight is controlled by the inner ring. This allows maximum pressure only on sludge that has been properly dewatered.

General Pressure Increase
Gradual increase in pressure provides optimum dewatering before high pressure zone.

Low Maintenance
Low maintenance results from extra heavy duty construction and slow rotation speed.

Long Detention Time
Long detention time under pressure allows liquid to flow through resistance created by compressed material and capillary action.

Optional Steam Injection
The introduction of steam through the center shaft reduces internal friction and screw wear, and can increase dryness.
