The ST module is a membrane element that uses a patented spacer design to treat water too difficult for conventional reverse osmosis.
Modern high-rejection reverse osmosis membranes have the ability to retain both organic and inorganic dissolved contaminants at rates of 98 to 99 percent, but have been limited by fouling and scaling issues. The ST module enables reverse osmosis for landfill leachate treatment as our patented spacer design reduces membrane fouling and minimize degradation allowing for longer lasting performance; consequently extending membrane lifespan up to 5 years or longer. Permeate from the ST module meets or exceeds discharge standards, often lower than potable water standards, allowing for sustainable discharge into local streams, rivers and aquifers. The ST module has been used to treat landfill leachate at over 200 sites throughout the world.
