Application Note

RO Membranes' Protection

The accumulation of microorganisms on membrane surfaces, known as biofouling, can lead to reduced performance and shortened RO lifespan. This phenomenon results in rapid increase in DP (differential pressure), frequent CIP and higher energy consumption. Moreover, biofouling can cause permanent damage to the membrane, requiring expensive replacements and causing downtime.

Current methods to prevent biofouling such as biocides, can be costly and potentially harmful to human and the environment, and don't always solve the problem.
