PPG Industries is a leading global supplier of coatings, continuous-strand fiber glass, flat and fabricated glass and chemicals. The company has about 50 production facilities in the United States and 110 worldwide, including subsidiaries, joint ventures and equity affiliates. PPG is one of the world's largest producers of automotive, industrial and packaging coatings, the largest maker of aircraft transparencies and second-largest of continuous-strand fiber glass, a leading manufacturer of chor-alkali and specialty chemicals, North America's largest producer of flat and fabricated glass, and a leading North American producer of architectural coatings.

PPG's coatings businesses manufacture automotive primers and finishes, refinishes, adhesives and sealants; factory-applied coatings for appliances, buildings, packaging and a broad range of industrial applications; and decorative, maintenance and other architectural coatings.

The company's glass units supply automotive, aircraft and other transportation original equipment and replacement glass parts, glass for commercial and residential construction and remodeling, and products for industrial, mirror and furniture applications.

Fiber glass operations produce continuous-strand fibers for reinforced plastics, stampable reinforced thermoplastic sheet, electronic circuit boards and many other applications.

PPG's chemicals businesses manufacture a variety of industrial and specialty products. Among them are chlorine, caustic soda, chlorinated solvents, vinyl chloride monomer, amorphous silicas, optical monomers and lenses, pharmaceutical intermediates, calcium hypochlorite and chloroformates.

The company has been a technological leader for 116 years. PPG has introduced many product and process innovations, including automotive safety glass, energy-saving processes for producing chlorine and caustic soda, electrodeposition coatings, glass fiber reinforcements for high-strength plastics, energy-conserving architectural glasses, and flexible and powder clear coat auto finishes.
