PBS&J Stormwater Quality Management Experts To Present At StormCon '08
Tampa, FL - Stormwater quality management professionals from throughout the country will once again be attending StormCon to share their stormwater quality management knowledge and experience with peers. This year's conference, August 3 – 7, 2008 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, FL, will feature technical presentations by six PBS&J stormwater quality management experts from California, Texas, and Florida.
Rosanna Lacarra (CA) will present A Tale of Two Cities – Urban Runoff Pollutant and Source Elimination: Parallel Approaches for Two San Diego Municipalities, which will show how one method for detecting and eliminating illicit discharges identified two very different sources.
Cheryl Wapnick(FL) will present A Cost-Effective Method for Assessing Fecal Contamination in Florida Tributaries, which will describe the use of both microbial water quality parameters and watershed assessments to help identify sources of bacteria contamination.
Joe Walter(FL) will present Using Storm Event Samplers to Calibrate the Watershed Loading Model for Use in the Development of the Lake Jesup TMDL, which will demonstrate how an event sampling program can bring the reality of measured data into the often numerical process of watershed modeling, helping refine the calibration process and increase knowledge of the hydrological pathways in the watershed.
Michael Bloom(TX) will present A Stormwater Program Management Challenge: Using Criteria Adjustments and Use Attainability Analyses to Address Bacteria Impairments and TMDLs in Fresh Water Urban Streams, which will summarize the origins of the bacteria water quality criteria and will discuss the regulatory framework that allows criteria and use adjustments.
Adrienne Boer(TX) will present Strategizing to Achieve SWPPP Compliance, which will describe innovative compliance methods for linear projects.
Jason Maldonado(TX) will present Storm Water Monitoring Efforts and Results from the North Central Texas Regional Storm Water Quality Monitoring Program, which will present water quality results from 19 monitoring sites in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and Evaluation of Various Pond Performances and Designs during Wet Weather Conditions, which will present water quality sampling results from inflow and outflow sampling stations at multiple stormwater management facilities in Harris County, TX. The Evaluation of Various Pond Performance presentation will be featured in the September issue of Stormwater Magazine that will be available at StormCon.
Thousands of municipal and industry leaders, federal agency representatives, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors are expected to attend to learn techniques, management strategies, and new technologies to improve community, construction-site, and industrial stormwater pollution prevention efforts. PBS&J will be among the more than 150 vendors and consultants exhibiting stormwater technologies and services.
