Ozone Vent Gas For Aeration At Wastewater Plant Expansion In China

The Jimo, China, municipal wastewater plant was originally designed to treat a combination of municipal and textile wastewater (120,000 m3/d) with Class IB effluent limits for BOD, COD, ESS, TN, NH3-N and TP. The main treatment plant is an oxidation ditch reverse AAO plant. Due to color removal and reuse requirements, the plant installed an ozone-based tertiary treatment system. In 2009, when the facility needed to increase its’ capacity, the stakeholders considered the use of ozone vent gas for aeration.
