Orion DUAL STAR™ Quick Start Note - Fluoride In Water & Wastewater

Source: Thermo Scientific

Communities across the country are expressing growing concerns with the presence of Fluoride in drinking water. Fluoridated water confers dental health benefits, but has recently been linked to discoloration and damage of tooth enamel. Many new drinking water permits have been updated for monitoring at a lower level of Fluoride—a new level of 0.7 ppm. The Thermo Scientific Orion DUAL Star pH/ISE meter with Orion Fluoride Ion Selective Electrodes (ISE), TISAB and standards provide an easy, accurate solution--even at the new levels.

Key benefits of the Orion DUAL STAR include dual inputs to simultaneously measure pH and ISE and an easy to use prompts to walk you through the ISE operation. Yet, there are also many advantages to measuring Fluoride ISE with the DUAL STAR meter:

  • More options for concentration units
  • Optional auto-blank for better low-level measurements
  • Built in Star-stirrer meter control
  • Ability to view and print your calibration graph with slope data
  • Ability to program all the settings for your Fluoride method

The meter easily guides you through common direct measurements like Fluoride, but also is programmed for a range of Known Addition and Subtraction methods.
