Nijhuis Industries To Acquire Deba UK Ltd.

Nijhuis Industries, the Dutch based Water and Wastewater company, represented in the UK by Nijhuis Industries UK & Ireland, has agreed to acquire Deba UK Ltd. to complement its existing portfolio of services.

Strengthen the existing capabilities
The acquisition of Deba UK Ltd (performed by KBS Corporate) is effective immediately and is part of the Nijhuis Industries group strategy of increasing its portfolio of water and wastewater services. The increased presence in the UK and Ireland will help to deliver the Company’s robust and adaptable equipment for clients who increasingly need sustainable and resilient solutions. The Company will be renamed Nijhuis DEBA Ltd and its offices in Wokingham will be added to its existing presence in Truro and Bristol.

Since 1972, DEBA UK Ltd has provided engineering services, products and technologies that enable organisations to meet their health, safety and environmental obligations in the areas of Legionella compliance as well as water and ventilation hygiene. It is a proven provider of mechanical and chemical solutions for cooling towers and also provides wastewater bio-organic catalyst applications.

Menno M. Holterman, Nijhuis Industries CEO, commented that ‘The DEBA suite of services is an excellent fit with our global vision of providing water and wastewater services. It recognises the increasing scarcity of water resources and helps our contribution to the circular economy’. Mike Platt, DEBA UK Ltd Managing Director added ‘I am confident that this acquisition is good for the Company and for the employees and will open-up many opportunities for the business going forward’.

Menno M. Holterman added that ‘the acquisition would result in an integrated turnkey offer for water and wastewater solutions offering customers a ‘one-stop shop’ and that it would also benefit from Nijhuis added-value services like i-Consult, i-Monitoring & Control and Operations’.

Mike Platt will continue to work for the combined group as Nijhuis DEBA Business Development Director. With effect from 15th October 2019, Ian Stentiford will be appointed into the new role of Managing Director Nijhuis UK & Ireland.
