New Solution To Rid Lakes And Reservoirs Of Toxic Algae Presented By World-Renowned Expert

It’s the start of nail-biting season for many cities and counties. As municipalities reopen lakes and reservoirs for public access, they restart a harrowing cycle of monitoring for harmful algae blooms (HABs), announcing closures, and applying costly chemical treatments. The cycle repeats continuously.

The price of failure is high: ecological degradation, depressed property values, and the production of liver toxins and neurotoxins that can damage human health.

Dr. Wayne Carmichael presents a new solution combining nature-based processes with biotechnology to clear lakes and reservoirs. By activating biological processes to digest built-up sediment and reoxygenate all levels of the water column, this new approach effectively starves out, and eliminates, excess algae in a matter of weeks.

Dr. Carmichael will share his research on these new methods in the Welcome Plenary session at the upcoming International Conference on Toxic Cyanobacteria:
