New Caloris Engineering White Paper Available
Easton, MD — Caloris Engineering has a new white paper available, “MVR Evaporators – Increasing Efficiency and Capacity by Reducing Losses and Maximizing Turbofan Performance.” The white paper uses a recent example involving an evaporator at a large-scale dairy producer.
To operate at peak efficiency and capacity, MVR Evaporators rely on optimal performance from their turbofans and predictable vapor flow conditions in ductwork. Many MVR evaporators include centrifugal vapor separators, which can negatively impact vapor flow conditions, resulting in wasted energy and reduced system capacity.
By optimizing vapor flow conditions, the capacity and energy efficiency of an MVR evaporator can be maximized. As part of a recent project involving a large-scale dairy evaporator, Caloris successfully diagnosed and corrected vapor flow issues, resulting in increased evaporation capacity and reduced energy consumption. These improvements ultimately unlocked additional production capacity, making for a compelling story that will resonate with MVR evaporator owners.
Written by Tom Schappeler, Caloris Evaporation & Membrane Filtration Manager, the white paper details how vapor flow affects the capabilities of MVR evaporators, gives an overview of centrifugal vapor separators and spinning flow, and reveals the results of Caloris work on the customer’s dairy evaporator.
