Navigating Digital Transformation In Municipal Water Systems

For the past few decades, the world has been undergoing a digital transformation. The abundance of cell phones and tablets – and the wealth of data created by their usage – has changed the way most companies do business. In the municipal field, things have not moved quite as fast, and many systems are still run using older technologies.

For the most part, however, municipal wastewater systems have the tools they need to undergo a digital transformation. However, while wastewater utilities are collecting data, they are not always making the best use of it.

Municipal water systems can gain far greater insights more quickly through digital transformation. But many are unsure if or how they can begin this journey. The good news is that it is likely that any given water utility is further along than they realize. Moreover, with the right tools, continuing on the digital journey is easier and more feasible than it may seem.
