Narwhal Aluminum Analyzer
Source: Custom Sensors & Technology
The Narwhal determines iron concentration via a Pyro Catechol Violet colorimetric method. The Narwhal automatically samples the process stream and proceeds with chemistry addition: a reducing reagent is added, followed by a buffer reagent, and finally Pyro Catechol Violet to provide color formation. The solution is mixed by exchanging the fluids between a syringe pump and measurement cell. Color formation (blue) becomes stronger with increasing concentrations of aluminum. Upon completion of the reaction an absorption measurement at 577nm is made that is proportional to aluminum concentration.
