82 Million Gallons In. Zero PFAS Out.

This case study demonstrates the exceptional, real-world performance of a new ion exchange (IX) resin system for municipal PFAS treatment. A major Mid-Atlantic water utility successfully utilized a Sharp Water system with ResinTech SIR-110-HP resin to treat over 82 million gallons of water over 23 months while maintaining zero detectable PFAS.
The project validated ion exchange as a reliable, predictable solution, achieving 90% of projected capacity without breakthrough. Key benefits of the IX technology include a 2.67x smaller footprint and treating over three times the volume (82+ million gallons vs. less than 25 million) for an equivalent-sized system. The success validates new modeling methodologies and supports future state-funded projects.
