MGD Technologies Inc. (MGD) is a firm that specializes in flow monitoring and condition assessment in inspections of water systems. MGD is a subsidiary of RD Instruments (RDI) Inc., a firm that is the predominate worldwide provider of oceanographic velocity profiling and current measurement equipment. RDI was formed in 1982, employs approximately 125 employees and manufactures MGD's ADFM Velocity Profiler™ (ADFM) Flow Monitor at their San Diego, California manufacturing facility. RDI has a worldwide network of representatives located on 6 continents around the globe.

Experienced wastewater professionals and select velocity profiling experts from RDI formed MGD in 1996. The specific purpose of MGD is to apply RDI's patented, advanced pulse Doppler velocity profiling expertise of pipelines and other manmade channels. MGD is the exclusive worldwide provider of the ADFM. The ADFM is especially well suited for measurement of flows in difficult hydraulic conditions and in open channels and larger pipes, such as interceptor sewers. Between RDI and MGD, there are more than 3,000 velocity profiling monitors installed around the globe. MGD currently has offices in Honolulu, Hawaii and San Diego, California. MGD has deployed crews and used the ADFM within the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, France and Germany.

In addition to MGD's civil engineering expertise, MGD is licensed as an A-General engineering contractor in the State of California (Contractor #718710) as well as a consulting firm register as a California corporation; carrying professional liability insurance (errors and omissions).
