MetSorb™ G From Hydroglobe Inc. Receives NSF Certification

Arsenic and Lead Adsorbent is Certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61

Hoboken, NJ - Hydroglobe Inc. is proud to announce the certification of MetSorb™ G adsorbent by NSF International to the NSF/ANSI Standard 61: Drinking Water System Components – Health Effects. NSF International, a world leader in independent, third party product certification, developed this standard to identify and eliminate contaminants from water treatment materials and products that may leach or migrate into the finished drinking water. MetSorb™ G removes arsenic and lead in drinking water to significantly below current and future state and federal regulations.

Adopted in October 7, 1998, NSF/ANSI Standard 61: Drinking Water System Components is a nationally recognized health effects standard for all devices and materials that contact drinking water. This standard covers virtually every device and material from the well or water intake through to the faucet. Included are pipe, valves, fittings, sealing materials, process media, and plumbing devices like faucets.

"Standard 61 tests for a wide range of organic and inorganic compounds that should not be found in drinking water" stated John Schroeder, CEO of Hydroglobe Inc. "Each day, more customers are asking about Standard 61 certification of materials and devices used in their water treatment systems. In particular, when a product has this certification, municipalities will welcome its use."

MetSorb G addresses the federal drinking water standard for arsenic adopted in February 2002. On January 23, 2006 public water systems in the United States must comply with the 10ppb standard for arsenic in drinking water. Some states are considering even lower levels. For example, Governor James E. McGreevey has proposed the most stringent standard in the US of 5 ppb in New Jersey for arsenic concentrations in drinking water during his 2004 State 0f the State address.

NSF International, a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, is the leading provider of public health and safety risk management solutions in the areas of food, water, indoor air and the environment. NSF provides product certification and safety audits for the food and water industries. For further information please visit www.nsf.org
