Louisville Water Delivers On Commitment To High-Quality Drinking Water

2024 Annual Water Quality Report Reflects Excellence
Louisville Water consistently produces and delivers safe, high-quality drinking water to the community. As we celebrate National Drinking Water Week, it's appropriate that Louisville Water just released its annual water quality report, a publication the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires of every community water system.
Louisville Pure Tap received high marks for quality, taste, and value. The report highlights Louisville Water’s 2024 test results for EPA-regulated substances at treatment plants, within the distribution system, and at many customers’ taps. It also illustrates our water treatment process, the value of Louisville Pure Tap, and the important work we do to continue meeting EPA standards. Louisville Water met all EPA standards, and in many cases, our water quality exceeds the EPA requirements.
“The community can trust Louisville Water to produce and deliver high-quality drinking water. It’s important to be informed about your water quality,” said Kelley Dearing Smith, Vice President of Communications and Marketing for Louisville Water. “This report highlights the work our scientists do every day in their commitment to public health.”
New this year, the report includes a look at Louisville Water's investments in infrastructure and maintenance of fire hydrants as well as our sustainability efforts. Louisville Water's bottle-fill water fountains have saved more than six million single-use plastic bottles from going to the landfill!
The EPA requires community water systems to deliver a report by July 1 that provides information about the drinking water they produce. View the full 2024 Annual Water Quality Report to learn more about Louisville’s drinking water quality.
