Leader, Speaker, Author Simon T. Bailey To Headline 2021 WQA Convention & Exposition In Las Vegas
Author of 10 books to inspire industry members on post-pandemic practices
“Be the Spark” leader, speaker and author Simon T. Bailey will deliver the keynote address at the 2021 Water Quality Association Convention & Exposition July 28-30 in Las Vegas. Bailey, the author of 10 books on being fearless and creating your future, will headline the convention’s Opening General Session set for 3 p.m. PDT Wednesday, July 28, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“I’ve followed Simon for many years and am so grateful he will be joining us in Las Vegas,” said WQA Executive Director Pauli Undesser. “He will help us address our 2021 convention theme, ‘Imagine,’ as he helps us dream up new ways of sparking creativity and showing ‘customer love’ in the water treatment industry.”
Bailey will talk about how companies can “spark your restart” and “think about the power of adaptive resilience” as they work to emerge from the pandemic.
“Every individual has been impacted and has come out on the other side with a clearer focus to take care of humanity and their experience and certainly their customers,” he said in a WQA Radio podcast giving a preview of his convention address.
Bailey, former sales director for Disney Institute, was named one of “25 Successful People Who’ll Help Change Your Life” by Success magazine. He has worked with more than 1,700 organizations in 46 countries, engaging and inspiring team members through his workshops, books, online courses and speeches.
He is the author of 10 books, most recently Be the SPARK: Five Platinum Service Principles for Creating Customers for Life, and he teaches a variety of popular online courses. His “Goalcast” video has more than 90 million views.
This is a new time and date for the Opening General Session (OGS), which previously was held the morning of the convention’s second day, right before the opening of the trade show floor. The WQA Annual Meeting, typically held during the OGS, was instead held online April 27 for the election of officers and other association business. This year’s OGS will also feature remarks from WQA leaders and presentation of both the 2020 and 2021 WQA Leadership Awards.
For nearly 50 years, the WQA Convention and Exposition has been the signature event of the water treatment industry. Education sessions are offered on all three days, and the trade show floor is open July 29 & 30. Attendees can also register to attend the convention virtually, through live-streamed events, education sessions, networking opportunities and a virtual trade show.
For the third time, WQA’s Business Boot Camp will be offered alongside the convention. This intensive one-day workshop in all aspects of running a water treatment business will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 27 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Details on the convention, the education session, COVID safety guidelines, the virtual convention experience, registration information and more is at wqa.org/convention.
